Department of Industrial Relations and Personnel Management hosts national conference at Berhampur University

Berhampur : A two day national conference on “Managing Human Resources in a New World of Work” has been inaugurated by The Industrial Relations and Personnel Management (IR&PM) department of Berhampur University on 23rd December, 2023 at the new conference hall of the university. The seminar has been graced by Hon;ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Geetanjali Dash as the Chief Guest, Former Professor of Public Administration, Kakatiya University as chief speaker and head, Tata Ferro Alloys plant, Gopalpur project Mr. Atla Rambabu as Guest of Honor. The seminar is gathering of learned professionals from academia and industry. The chief speaker Prof. Reddy stimulated the audience with his insightful message on the changing landscape of HR administration in new reality of business. Technology is a major driver of change, said Mr. Rambabu citing enormous challenges that HR is facing in the changing scenario of time. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Dash encouraged the young researchers to pursue innovative ideas and be a change agent. The in-charge Chairman, Post Graduate Council Prof. Sukanta Tripathy highlighted the importance of human resources in any organization. The organizing secretary and coordinator of the department Dr. Satyabrata Patro delivered the welcome address and Dr. Anuva Choudhury, a senior faculty of the department of IR&PM introduced the guests to the august gathering. Dr. Bharat Kumar Lakra, a senior faculty of the department extended vote of thanks. The inaugural session has been an embodiment of laurels of the department including former Professors such as Prof. DV Giri, Prof. Bibhui Bhusan Mahapatro, Prof. Subash Parida, many former students occupying coveted positions in industry as well as academia.
The house has witnessed an intellectually vibrating plenary session with 5 distinguished speakers as panelist. A senior retired Professor of IR&PM department Prof. Bhabani Prasad Rath introduced the panel speakers and Prof. Biswambar Jha from Department of IR&PM, Patna University assumed the session chair role and shared his lifelong earned wisdom with the scholarly gathering. The other luminary speakers were noted advocate Sri Sanatan Biswal, CEO jio Mart Mr. Anil Kumar Mishra, Director (Personnel) Odisha Mining Exploration Corporation Limited Sri Binod Bihari Saw and additional labour commissioner Mr. Nilambar Mishal.
In the post-lunch session, selected papers have been presented by the research scholars. Prof. and Prof. DV Giri and Kameswar Pandit from Patna University joined the dais as Session chair and co-chair respectively. At last Dr. Itishree Gita Kumari, faculty of I.R. &P. M. Has given vote of thanks. After the paper presentation, students of the department have orchestrated majestic cultural evening through music, song and performing arts. |
